How to prevent epoxy resin form yellowing

Resin will yellow over time which can be caused by overheating when curing them or prolonged exposure to UV light. UV light is powerful and can break down the polymers in the resin, causing drastic changes like gloss loss, delamination, cracking, surface chalking and more. Resin will also yellow if mixed in large quantities.

To reduce yellowing, work in a temperature-controlled workspace. You can also choose products with UV inhibitors. Typically, they can reduce yellowing by up to 95%. Some of our products have UV inhibitors in them. Luckily, all of our epoxy resin kits have UV inhibitors to slow down the yellowing process.
